Overview

Whisper-quiet operation without compromising air hygiene. Our sound attenuators are fabricated from hygienic materials, with biosoluble media that is safe in the airstream, and parallel splitters that take noise out of the duct with low resistance to the air.

They are certified to VDI 6022 Parts 1 & 3, DIN 1946 Part 4 and VDI 3802, the European hygiene standards specified for operating theatres and pharmaceutical clean rooms, and built from materials with high resistance to damage and temperature.

They are made as in-duct attenuators, straight or bent where the duct turns, and as 750 mm silencer modules inside our air handling units.

Hygiene Requirements, Parts 1 & 3

What it is

The German guideline for hygiene in ventilation and air-conditioning systems. Components in the air stream must not support microbial growth, must not release fibres or harmful substances, and must not trap dirt where it cannot be cleaned.

On this product

Certified to VDI 6022 Parts 1 and 3: the acoustic media is biosoluble and hygienically safe, so the attenuator can sit in a clean air path.

Ventilation in Healthcare Buildings

What it is

The German standard for ventilation and air conditioning in hospitals and other healthcare buildings. It classes rooms by the protection they need, from operating theatres down, and sets filtration, airflow direction and component hygiene for each class.

On this product

Certified to DIN 1946 Part 4, the standard hospital ventilation tenders in this region are written against, so it can be specified for healthcare projects.

Yes. It is certified to VDI 6022 Parts 1 & 3 and DIN 1946 Part 4, and its biosoluble media is hygienically safe in the airstream — the requirements hospital ventilation tenders are written against.

Is a bent attenuator available?

Yes, for where the duct turns and there is no straight length to spare.

Can the attenuation be built into the air handling unit?

Yes. Our AHUs take a 750 mm silencer module built to the same hygiene standards.
